Two of our teachers recently participated in an Integrated Teaching Project (STEM) lesson plan competition organized by Bahçeşehir University-Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (BAUSEM).  A lesson plan prepared by math teacher Nilgün Bal and Physics teacher Dünya Yılmaz was awarded third place.

The lesson plans were evaluated by subject area experts. Over 250 lesson plans were submitted from different regions of Turkey. The first 20 lesson plans will be published in STEM—FeTeMM education book. Our lesson, Parabolic Solar Cooker project, integrated four main disciplines; Math, Physics, Technology and Engineering. Our teacher’s goal was to make abstract concepts more understandable and to relate daily life events with the topics students cover in class.
