The Atatürk Commemoration Ceremony, using the theme of “Ideas Don’t Die,” began with opening speeches that were followed by Ilgın Özkul’s piano performance of “Fazıl Say-Kumru”. A panel was hosted by our Turkish literature teacher Ahmet Uygur, History teacher Mehmet Sait Emir, our students Serra Zoraloğlu, Alp Çelenk, and Piraye Hatemi. After a moment of silence at 09:05, our national anthem was sung by the audience. Our literature teacher Mehmet Cemil’s Zeybek performance, and Spanish teacher Aylin Demirhan’s waltz performance, were greeted with enthusiasm.
