A conference about the experiments at CERN was organized at SAC on February,16. Doğuş University Physics Deparment Headmaster Prof Serkant Ali Çetin, a Turkish scientist working with the Atlas experiment at CERN, visited our school and gave detailed information to the students about the research held at the biggest European Organization for Nuclear Research. He also gave the message that “They can be one of these scientists”

SAC students visited CERN-Switzerland between February 20-22 with the science department teachers to learn the secrets of the universe. They had a chance to ask questions to the Turkish Scientist Umut Köse who is one of the physicists working on trying to find answers about the Big-Bang.

While the students were looking for the answers to the questions like “How did the birth of the universe come about?”, “How does matter and energy transformation occur during particle collision?”, “How does antimatter form?”, they enjoyed watching simulations of the Big-Bang and Atlas Experiment.

By participating in the CERN trip, SAC students had the opportunity to recognize the importance of “ Scientific Method” which is one of the basic goals of the science department.
