Aslı Özgönül and Zeynep Musluarslanoğlu were the masters of ceremony at the Atatürk Commemoration, which began with opening speeches that were followed by Merve Bahadır’s piano performance of “I will always love you”. After a moment of silence at 09:05, our national anthem was sung by the audience. Our Turkish literature teacher Mehmet Cemil’s Zeybek performance, and Spanish teacher Aylin Demrihan’s  and History teacher Mehmet Sait Emir’s waltz performance were greeted with enthusiasm. Drama club students re-enacted an historical scene at Atatürk’s dining table and sung İzmir Anthem afterwards. After this spectacular entertainment,  Kazım Karabekir’s daughter Timsal Karabekir captured and moved the audience with her stories and memories.
