Department of Social Studies covers History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy and Religion
With the Social Studies program the students are expected to;

adopt Atatürk’s principles and reforms and become individuals with a sense of democracy and respect for human rights

know and understand their responsibilities as citizens

know and explore the environment and be conscious about nature, history and culture

have capabilities of free thinking, tolerance, critical and analytical thinking, discussion, making analysis and interpretation as well

gain proficiency in the areas of personality development, human relations, social responsibility and personal rights and responsibilities

understand and grasp religions and cultures which had effects on people throughout history

understand and grasp current events in order to lead the future decisions

improve skills such as studying, learning, problem solving and decision making

understand the importance of communication and gain good communication skills

understand the importance of scientific research methods

adapt to the differences in time and place by adopting the idea of constant change and development in social life
